With just three weeks separating now and the start of the Premier League season, Leeds United will be desperate to get one or two more signings in before welcoming Everton on August 18.
Leeds are thrown into a baptism of fire with a home game against Everton before going to Arsenal and then returning to Elland Road to face Eddie Howe’s Newcastle, which will see Sean Longstaff face his pals.
So far, Leeds have made seven summer signings. The 49ers have pledged £80m on the likes of Jaka Bijol, Anton Stach and Lucas Perri without earning a single penny in return with Leeds yet to make a single sale.
But all three promoted sides have been busy as they look to avoid the drop, and increase the number of sides that have been relegated in their first season. All six in the last two seasons have suffered the drop.

Simon Jordan predicts who has best chance of avoiding the drop
The former Crystal Palace owner is renowned for being outspoken and this week, he summed up which teams look most likely to go down. He thinks Brentford and Wolves may struggle to stay afloat this term.
Of the promoted sides, Jordan told TalkSPORT he feels Leeds and Burnley have got a real chance of safety come May 2026, while Sunderland’s chances depend on the success of their summer recruitment drive.
“Wolves might wobble again. Maybe Keith Andrews will find out the reality of what football management is like rather than punditry. Leeds and Burnley have a chance, depends on what business Sunderland do.”
How many signings have Burnley and Sunderland made so far?
Leeds have a few more transfers they would like to do, bringing in a new centre-forward to start over Joel Piroe and Lukas Nmecha. But a move for Rodrigo Muniz looks increasingly unlikely at a massive £50m.

Artem Dovbyk has been linked today, rated at £30m. A new winger too, after missing out on Igor Paixao to Marseille. It sees Leeds go into the final three weeks before the opener with seven signings in the door.
After promotion, Scott Parker’s Burnley signed four players immediately due to clauses. They have added Kyle Walker and five others, taking a total to 10 while Sunderland have spent the most of all three sides.
| Burnley | Leeds | Sunderland | |
| Signings made: | 10 | 7 | 7 |
| Money spent: | £65m | £80m | £130m |
However, Sunderland’s spending has been offset by the sale of Jobe Bellingham to Borussia Dortmund and Tommy Watson to Brighton, allowing Regis Le Bris’ side to spend more on new recruits this summer.
