David Prutton has shared his prediction for Leeds United’s trip to Sunderland this evening.

The Whites will be looking to make it four wins in a row when they visit the Stadium of Light having beaten Swansea City, Middlesbrough and Blackburn Rovers in their last three.

Daniel Farke continues to get the best out of his attacking talent with both Dan James and Crysencio Summerville on the scoresheet on Saturday, who now already have seven and nine goals respectively.

That said, Leeds will be making the trip to Wearside without one of their key defenders in Sam Byram, though that could hand Djed Spence the opportunity to start for the first time, all be it at left-back.

Sunderland, meanwhile, are still without a manager following the dismissal of Tony Mowbray last week, but did pick up an impressive win over West Brom at the weekend.

Prutton predicts Leeds win

Writing in his latest EFL prediction column for Sky Sports, Prutton has backed Leeds to pick up yet another victory and keep the pressure on the two sides above them.

He said: “Sunderland put on a rousing display against West Brom, taking victory in their first game since the departure of Tony Mowbray. Can they continue that momentum into their clash with Leeds?

“United are flying at the minute. There is so much attacking talent there, and they are scoring goals for fun. This should be some game, I think Daniel Farke’s side will edge it. Prediction: Sunderland 1-2 Leeds.

Leeds will need to be at their best at both ends of the pitch tonight as they face a Sunderland side with one of the best players in the league, in Jack Clarke.

But like with every match in this division, Leeds have the quality in the final third to hurt any team at this level and that is no different tonight.

Leeds will be hoping for their first win in the away kit since a 4-0 success at Burnley all the way back in 2021.
