Sam Allardyce has been very vocal on Leeds United in recent weeks, as Daniel Farke’s predecessor is keeping a keen eye on the Championship run-in.
Leeds are in dire need of three points, and a struggling Luton Town side on Saturday could be perfect.
Well, it might be naive to suggest that, as not only do Leeds struggle with early kick-offs, but they also struggle with bottom-half sides.
Luton find themselves in a tricky position, having just been relegated from the Premier League, but in no way will Farke see this as an easy fixture.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 22 | 39 | 9 | 13 | 17 | 43 | 63 | -20 | 40 | |
| 23 | 39 | 10 | 8 | 21 | 35 | 60 | -25 | 38 | |
| 24 | 39 | 7 | 13 | 19 | 40 | 77 | -37 | 34 |
But Allardyce has given reason why the Luton game could open a pathway for Leeds, leaving Sheffield United worried.

Sam Allardyce finds a silver lining for Leeds United
Allardyce had a short stint with the Whites, but he’s still a keen admirer of the club.
It seemed like Daniel Farke might have listened to the former Whites boss, as Allardyce said Illan Meslier should be dropped.
In a weird full-circle moment, Allardyce was the last manager to drop Meslier, as his claims seem to normally come to fruition.
Leeds fans will be intrigued to hear what he’s now said about the Luton game on Saturday, as Allardyce suggests how Farke can grab an advantage over Chris Wilder.
Speaking to talkSPORT (04/04/25), Allardyce has given Leeds a silver lining to their disastrous form.
“I can cast my mind back to having to play Southampton away when I was at Bolton, and we needed a result,” Allardyce said.
“We had to kick off on Monday evening, and in the weekend games, all the teams in around us won. It put massive pressure on us, and we managed to get a draw.
“The added pressure meant that the players froze. Whatever happens, they can put extra pressure on Sheffield United.”
Leeds get a taste of their own medicine on penultimate matchday
Although this works in Leeds’ favour this time around, at a more crucial time, it goes against Farke.
The Whites will be hoping to set the standard and return to the top of the tree for a brief moment before Sheffield play Oxford United at 3 pm on the same Saturday.
This could work in Leeds’ favour, but on the penultimate matchday, Leeds’ game has moved to Monday 8pm, meaning they will be at a disadvantage in such a pivotal point of the season.
Farke will be hoping his side can take advantage of Allardyce’s verdict this time around, but dropping points at Luton could spell serious trouble.
