The Leeds United goalkeeper has been under the spotlight for almost an entire week now, and it comes as no surprise why.

Meslier has a big question mark floating over his head after his calamitous errors vs Swansea City last Saturday, which will leave Farke questioning his position.

Sam Allardyce thinks Meslier should be dropped, which will open the door for Karl Darlow to take centre-stage.

With Luton fast approaching, it does seem Farke could stick with Meslier after defending him, but a rival star has revealed his thoughts on what the Leeds boss should do.

Jed Wallace is an experienced professional himself, so this could be some wise words from the West Brom winger.

It’s very rare that a rival speaks out on problems occurring at other clubs, but Wallace has been keen to get his insight across on Meslier.

The perception is that even Leeds’ players are frustrated with Meslier, but speaking to BBC’s Football Daily, Wallace has suggested they need to ‘protect’ him.

“I think it’s going to be interesting now because they have Darlow, who is a very experienced keeper,” Wallace said.

“Meslier is a maverick-type goalie, where he struggles with the routine saves.

“They need to protect him the best they can.”

Farke will more than likely start Meslier for Leeds vs Luton

Although it’s a raging debate at the moment between who the Whites manager will put between the sticks, it seems fairly obvious.

Even though the Frenchman has proven to be costly to Leeds’ promotion bid, Farke has trusted the 25-year-old enough this season to start him for all 39 League games this campaign.

This is a clear indication that Farke won’t be budging, and Ross McCormack believes Meslier will keep his place.

Luton will be a real test not only to Leeds but Meslier’s status in goal and Farke has certainly put his neck on the line for his goalkeeper to perform.
