Italian outlet CM claim Jose Mourinho’s Roma could forget about a deal for Leeds United man Rasmus Kristensen, which is yet to overcome the final few details – and instead of the Dane, sign long-term Leeds target Adama Traore.

Kristensen, 25, has been strongly linked with a move to Roma in recent weeks. But the latest report claims that the deal is missing the final few details. It was ‘closed’ a few weeks ago, but is yet to be completed by Leeds and Roma.

So, Kristensen’s loan move to Roma is in doubt – and even more so, judging by CM’s latest report. They say sporting director Tiago Pinto has been looking at alternatives. Among them, is long-term Leeds target and free agent Traore.

Forza Roma reported earlier this week that Roma wanted Traore. 90Min say Leeds wanted Traore in December 22, and he has been linked with Leeds ever since Victor Orta arrived at Leeds – after signing Traore for Middlesbrough.

Now, CM give an update. With talks for Kristensen struggling to reach the final agreement, Roma could instead move for Traore. Given he is a free agent, a deal would be easy to strike. Nelson Semedo is also an option for Roma.

It is a blow for Roma, and for Leeds. Leeds have three right-backs on the books at Elland Road, with Kristensen still on the books. We need to keep the young and impressive Cody Drameh, and Luke Ayling is experienced at this level.

Kristensen is the obvious sale – and given his international exploits – probably brings in the most amount of cash. If a deal cannot be done between Leeds and Roma, then it is not only a blow for Roma – but for us, probably more so.
