French outlet Ouest France claim Lorient manager Regis Le Bris has failed to turn up to the first day of pre-season training with Lorient – amid reports over the weekend that Leeds were ‘attacking’ Lorient to hire the club’s manager.
Le Bris, 47, has been linked with Leeds for a while after impressing in his first season as a senior manager. Given the reigns last summer, he took Lorient to a very comfortable 10th in Ligue 1. Lorient finished 16th the season prior.
According to French reporter Mohamed Toubache-Ter, Leeds are ‘attacking’ Lorient to hire Le Bris. It comes after we were initially linked by The Sun. Nice are also interested in Le Bris, prompting Lorient to post a statement.
A statement in which Lorient said they had rejected Le Bris’ desire to move. Now, the new report says Le Bris has failed to turn up as Lorient return for pre-season testing. He was expected to be present on Monday for testing.
The report says there are disagreements between Le Bris and president Loic Ferry. But, while he was meant to have turned up today and tomorrow for testing, he should be present when the balls are out on the grass, on Wednesday.

Le Bris would be a wonderful appointment. While not proven, he is a manager that is showing huge potential, using an attacking style of play that would adhere with what Leeds fans want. But, Lorient are playing hard ball with him.
He has a deal until 2027 and it means the ball is in their court. Leeds are expected to bring in Daniel Farke and it remains to be seen if Le Bris would want to go from the top tier of French football – to join a Championship club.
