Despite it being expected that Leeds United will appoint Daniel Farke this week, journalist Mohamed Toubache-Ter claims that Leeds are ‘attacking’ Ligue 1 side Lorient in an attempt to bring manager Regis Le Bris to Elland Road.
Le Bris, 47, entered senior management for the first time last summer. He was handed the job at Lorient after a decade with the club. Lorient finished 16th the season prior, but under Le Bris, finished in a very respectable 10th.
That has put him on the radar of numerous clubs. The Sun initially reported our interest in the Frenchman. Plenty has since happened. Nice are also being linked, but Lorient put out a statement – rejecting his request to move on.
Toubache-Ter previously reported that a fee of £4.3m would be enough to get him out of Lorient. Now, the French reporter claims Leeds have ‘attacked’ Lorient to bring him to Leeds, in what would be a surprise late manager twist.
His Tweet is translated as saying: Stade Brestois tries Fabien Centonze. Lorient very strongly wants Franck Honorat but competition is fierce. Leeds are attacking Lorient again to secure the services of their coach, Régis Le Bris.”

It would be a shock at this late stage, for Leeds to move for Le Bris when the club have been linked so strongly with a move for Farke. It is widely expected that German boss Farke will be appointed, and even been at Thorp Arch.
But, if Leeds have late reservations regarding Farke, they could do a lot worse than pick Le Bris – who has taken to life as a manager in the perfect fashion. He is inexperienced, but showing potential. He, or Farke, would be superb.
