The Sun claim Leeds United are targeting Luton Town manager Rob Edwards and Lorient gaffer Regis Le Bris as they begin their search for Sam Allardyce’s replacement – with Big Sam expected to leave after his four-game stint.

Leeds have been relegated to the Championship and there is going to be a multitude of change from top to bottom. Andrea Radrizzani has angered fans and it looks increasingly likely that the 49ers will increase their stake in Leeds.

Victor Orta needs replacing, while player turnover is expected to be a large one following relegation. Angus Kinnear will remain in his role as chief executive. He has been conducting a search for a new manager in the last few weeks.

Edwards has starred in his role as Luton manager, guiding his side to the Premier League for the first time after a play-off win over Coventry. Cody Drameh has starred for the Hatters under Edwards, during a loan spell at Luton.

Meanwhile, another name on the Leeds shortlist is Lorient’s Le Bris. He guided his side to a solid 10th-placed finish in Ligue 1 this season, in his first season as Lorient manager. He has been with Lorient since 2012 in other roles.

The report also states that Brendan Rodgers and Steven Gerrard, who are not in a job as things stand, are options. Whether Leeds could convince Edwards to drop back into the Championship after promotion remains to be seen.

Le Bris might stand more of a chance, but he remains in the top tier of French football with a club he has worked for for the last 11 years. At least, it is a sign that Leeds are working behind the scenes and trying to get a manager in.
