Andrea Radrizzani is hoping that San Francisco 49ers Enterprises’ takeover of Leeds United will reach a conclusion this week, one way or another.
That is according to the Daily Mail, who report Radrizzani is hopeful of finding out whether 49ers Enterprises are indeed keen on a full buyout after relegation, or if they will just retain their current shareholding of 44%.
Radrizzani is still yet to comment on the situation at Leeds after the events of Sunday, with the Italian instead having been focused on his buyout of Sampdoria.
The 48-year-old has been in his native homeland for the last two weeks and finally reached an agreement to take over Sampdoria following their relegation to Serie B.
With that now done, Radrizzani can now turn his attention back towards Leeds and finalising 49ers’ takeover ahead of what will be a very busy summer for the club.
Leeds takeover expected to reach conclusion
Sky Sports reported yesterday that the two parties remain locked in advanced talks for a full buyout of Leeds, with a new deal having to be negotiated after relegation.
49ers had originally agreed to takeover Leeds in the Premier League for £420 million this summer, but now value the club at no more than £150 million, meaning a new agreement is having to be reached.
Leeds fans will undoubtedly be keen to see the back of Radrizzani all together following a dreadful last 18 months since Marcelo Bielsa’s sacking.
A series of poor decisions off the pitch has led to Leeds’ relegation and ultimately, he has seen his legacy at the club tarnished despite being the man to lead the club back to the Premier League.
A full 49ers takeover would represent the start of a new chapter at Leeds and therefore allow them to really attack this summer to build a squad capable of sealing promotion.
