French newspaper L’Equipe claim Lorient manager Regis Le Bris ‘cannot imagine’ staying at his current club amid interest from both Leeds United and OGC Nice this summer – despite a recent statement from the Ligue 1 side.
Le Bris, 47, has earned interest this summer after impressing in his first full season as Lorient manager. Having worked at the club for over a decade, the Frenchman was given the manager role by the club’s board last summer.
Lorient finished 16th in 2021-22, avoiding the drop narrowly. But in 22-23, Le Bris guided Lorient to an impressive 10th place, even after losing 21-22’s top scorer Terem Moffi to Nice. Le Bris has a deal until the summer of 2027.
The Sun recently claimed that Leeds are considering a move. Then, RMC said Nice have an agreement with Le Bris, not with Lorient. Journalist Mohamed Toubache-Ter says a fee of £4.3m is needed to lure him away from his club.
Lorient have since published a statement on Le Bris. They say that Le Bris has requested to go, but that request has been rejected. Lorient are playing hardball – but L’Equipe still say that Le Bris ‘cannot imagine’ staying Les Merlus.

Nice are the front runners for Le Bris. The interest from a club that owns the likes of Ross Barkley, Aaron Ramsey and Kasper Schmeichel is turning his head. But, no agreement has been made with Lorient over a move for Le Bris.
Indeed, if Lorient are to lose Le Bris, they would surely send him overseas – rather than to the side that finished one place above them last season in Ligue 1. Nice are a direct rival. Leeds are stepping up their search for a new boss.
Brendan Rodgers looks set to return to Celtic this summer despite Leeds wanting him. Daniel Farke, Scott Parker and Carlos Corberan seem to be the main three options at the moment. But, Le Bris could come into the picture.
