Daniel Farke is preparing to return to Carrow Road for the first time since leaving Norwich City and he has a number of decisions to make when picking his Leeds United XI – with Archie Gray a talking point.
Farke spent four years at Norwich as manager but has not returned since being sacked in November 2021. He has since managed Krasnodar – without managing – and then went to German side Gladbach.
The German gaffer confirmed in Thursday’s press conference that he will be without a number of key players for the trip. Stuart Dallas, Djed Spence and Junior Firpo are intermittently in Leeds team training.
But Farke is yet to bring them back to full training on a permanent basis and until then, they will not be considered for first-team action. Farke does have two players back from injury, after the October break.
Willy Gnonto has recovered from the injury he picked up against Hull City earlier this month, while Jamie Shackleton’s shoulder injury is now resolved – forcing him to miss the last two Championship matches.

Predicted Leeds XI to travel to Norwich: Archie Gray talking point
So, there are decisions to make. Especially, with Ethan Ampadu, Glen Kamara, Ilia Gruev and Gray all clocking up plenty of minutes during the break. Gray played an three 90 minutes for England’s U19’s.
Farke also told his press conference – as per the club’s YouTube – that he took Gray out of Thursday’s training session due to his work load during the break. Surely, he is rested come Saturday afternoon.
Gray played right-back last time out. So, Luke Ayling starts. Gnonto has to come in, and Dan James is in stunning form – two more assists during the break. So, Summerville drops out to incorporate the Italian.
