Predicted Leeds United XI v Tottenham as Daniel Farke makes his goalkeeper decision

It’s been a solid couple of weeks for Leeds United and that means, Daniel Farke’s side almost picks itself going into Saturday’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Elland Road.

Having beaten Wolves and drawn with Bournemouth with the same side, the chances are that Farke is going to name something pretty similar to the eleven that have picked up four points from two games.

Leeds now sit on eight points from six Premier League games ahead of Saturday lunchtime’s welcome of Spurs. Farke will be confident, having never lost to Thomas Frank in five games against the Dane.

But those five games came while Farke was manager of Norwich, and during Frank’s long-winded tenure as Brentford boss. Now, the two gaffers meet for the first time in charge of Leeds United and Tottenham.

Leeds’ injury issues going into Saturday’s Tottenham clash

Last week, Farke said that Willy Gnonto and Dan James were doubts for Bournemouth, while Leeds would know more about Lucas Perri this week. Jayden Bogle was fine and completed 90 minutes last weekend.

Gnonto’s availability remains a doubt, having been unable to make the bench against Bournemouth, but James will definitely be missing after turning his ankle in training. He is set for a few weeks out injured.

Whether Perri is fit remains unclear, but aside from those three players, it appears Farke should have a fully fit squad unless there are any surprises that Farke tells reporters on Thursday in his press conference.

Predicted Leeds XI to take on Tottenham on Saturday

Nine players pick themselves if fit. Jayden Bogle, Joe Rodon, Pascal Struijk, and Gabriel Gudmundsson will remain in defence. Aidy White says Struijk should retain his place above Jaka Bijol after Bournemouth.

There’s no need to disrupt the form of trio Anton Stach, Sean Longstaff, and Ethan Ampadu. Longstaff has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Weekend award for his goal and assist last time.

Up top, Dominic Calvert-Lewin was “unbelievable” against Bournemouth according to Jermaine Beckford even if he missed a few chances. He starts if fit, as does Noah Okafor. That leaves two places up for grabs.

Farke has to decide on who starts in goal. Has Karl Darlow done enough to retain the jersey over a fit-again Perri? Then on the right, does Brenden Aaronson remain after his standing ovation last week?

LeedsUnited.News reckons Farke will start the same side despite Jack Harrison’s two goals in his last four games against Spurs, and the return of Perri. Darlow and £25m Aaronson will surely start for Leeds.
