Daniel Farke spoke to reporters on Thursday afternoon ahead of Leeds United’s sixth Premier League match of the season, as Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth come to Elland Road.

First, the visit of Bournemouth who have a blistering start to the Premier League season despite selling major parts of last season’s side. It will also see Tyler Adams return to Elland Road for the first time.

Then, Thomas Frank’s Tottenham next weekend in a lunchtime kick-off. Bournemouth come into the game having drawn 0-0 with Newcastle last time out, the same result Leeds managed against Newcastle.

Daniel Farke delivers update on Leeds defender Jayden Bogle

Going into the press conference, the belief was that Willy Gnonto, Dan James and Lucas Perri would all be available to face Bournemouth. Last week, Farke confirmed that Gnonto and James were only doubts.

More news on Perri would arrive this week. Now, Farke has confirmed that Perri and Gnonto will be missing on Saturday, but Jayden Bogle has overcome a foot injury and James is available for Saturday.

“Lucas has not joined us in team training. We hope he can join us in team training next week. It is likely he is out before the international break. I don’t expect he will be a topic before the international break.

“With Jayden, good news. He is back in team training. Thank god it was nothing too serious, just a bruise. He will be available. Dan James, progress in his rehab. Yesterday, it was the first time he joined training.

“We will take a late decision. Bad news with Willy Gnonto, he is still struggling with his calf and is yet to return to training. Still some problems, he will miss the game and hope to have him back next week.”

How Leeds are expected to line-up with Jayden Bogle sidelined…

Leeds bulked up their depth in defence during the summer and one new signing was James Justin, bought for a £10m fee from Leicester. But with Bogle fit, Justin now looks set to remain on the bench.

Elsewhere, Farke has a decision to make regarding Perri and Karl Darlow. The Wales no.1 has starred between the sticks. Dominic Matteo believes Darlow should retain his place and with Perri yet to return.

In attack, Brenden Aaronson has started the last two games but with James ready to go, it might be that Farke decides to make a change. Jaka Bijol is set to remain on the bench after his move to Leeds.
