Luton Town are set to complete the signing of Manchester City right back Issa Kabore on loan, which surely ends their interest in Leeds United’s Cody Drameh.
That is according to the Daily Telegraph, who report a deal in principle between the two clubs has been agreed with Kabore set to fly out to Slovenia and join the rest of Luton’s squad for pre-season.
Luton have been in the market for a new right-back since winning promotion with Drameh at the top of their shortlist after his impressive loan spell in the second half of last season.
However, Luton have clearly been unable to striker an agreement for the 21-year-old to return, which has forced them to turn their attentions elsewhere.
Like Drameh, Kabore is a talented young right-back and though he is yet to play for Man City’s first team, enjoyed a positive loan spell at Ligue 1 side Marseille in the 2022/23 campaign.

This is undoubtedly a huge boost to Leeds’ chances of keeping Drameh with that almost certainly ruling Luton out of the race.
Fellow newly promoted side Burnley do remain keen on signing Drameh, but have also submitted a bid for Anderlecht’s Noah Sadiki, indicating they may well have also moved on.
Drameh could now finally be set for a regular role in Leeds’ first team with Rasmus Kristensen having joined AS Roma on a season-long-loan.
Luke Ayling is now Drameh’s only competition for a first team spot, but the youngster has certainly earned his opportunity after two impressive loans at Cardiff City and Luton.
Leeds should display their intent to hand Drameh a leading role this season by handing him a new deal, given he has just 12 months left.
