Everton are ready to ‘revisit’ their interest in Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto.
That is according to Football Transfers, who report the Toffees will look to make a fresh move for the 19-year-old after seeing an offer rejected last month.
It is said that personal terms would not be an issue if Everton were to strike a deal with Leeds, and that the groundwork has already been done on a potential deal.
As per the Mail, Everton saw a £15 million offer turned down in July but have not yet returned with a second bid, though that could change as the window enters the final three weeks.
Should they come out empty-handed again, Everton have already began sounding out potential alternatives, including Southampton’s Kamaldeen Sulemana.
Everton to revisit interest in Leeds’ Gnonto
Leeds have been pretty clear in their stance so far this summer that Gnonto is a player they are extremely keen to keep for the season ahead.
As per Ben Jacobs, it would take a ‘huge offer’ to tempt Leeds into selling, with Daniel Farke and San Francisco 49ers Enterprises seen him as key to their plans.
Gnonto has four years left to run on his contract at Elland Road and does not have a relegation release clause, putting Leeds in a strong position to keep him.
He was handed a start in Leeds‘ first Championship game of the season against Cardiff City on Sunday, leading the line for the first time on his own.
