Leeds United have now rejected a £15 million bid from Everton for Willy Gnonto with the Whites determined to keep the Italy international at Elland Road.
That is according to a report from the Daily Mail, which claims that Leeds immediately turned down the offer from the Toffees.
It is no surprise that Leeds want to keep Willy Gnonto heading into the new season. The 19-year-old was a shining light in a hugely disappointing campaign at Elland Road. He was one of only a handful of players to emerge from the year with any sort of credit.

But with that, clubs are trying to lure him away. And the Daily Mail is now reporting that Everton have now made a £15 million bid for the former FC Zurich starlet.
However, Leeds want to keep Gnonto and have told Everton that they have no interest in letting him go.
The report notes that it is not yet clear whether Everton plan to return with a fresh offer given that Sean Dyche has not got the biggest budget to work with in this window.
It would be a huge boost for Daniel Farke’s plans if Leeds were able to keep Gnonto. His form did tail off in the latter stages of the season. But he could certainly tear things up in the second tier.
Obviously, he will want to boost his chances of remaining in the Italy fold. But Leeds will argue that a year in the Championship may have its benefits for his development.
It is good to see that the club are not planning to sell their ‘special‘ player anytime soon. Hopefully, his admirers get the message and decide to stay away in this window.
