Leeds United are among the clubs keen on signing Liverpool defender Nat Phillips this summer.
However, according to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool may have to lower their price tag of £10 million if they are to shift him permanently, which is both the player and club’s wish.
Phil Hay of the Athletic first reported Leeds’ interest in Phillips at the end of last month, before the appointment of Daniel Farke was confirmed as the Whites’ new manager.
However, Phillips is a player Farke has long admired having first tried to sign back in his Norwich City days, indicating he is someone Leeds very much want to bring to Elland Road this summer.
Farke is set to have an ‘aggressive’ transfer budget handed to him by San Francisco 49ers Enterprises this summer, but that does not mean they will be paying over the odds for players.

And in this case, Liverpool may have to budge from their asking price of £10 million if they are to allow Phillips to move on permanently, amid interest from Leeds and Feyenoord.
Liverpool do not want to lose Phillips on loan again and as such, there will have to be some sort of compromise if parties are to reach an agreement they want.
The 26-year-old struggled for game time last season but in the years prior, had become someone Jurgen Klopp had to grown to rely on, even in big matches.
Klopp has frequently praised Phillips in the past and labelled him as an ‘aerial monster’ for his performance in a 2-0 Champions League win over Leipzig in the 2020/21 season.
Phillips would add a significant amount of quality to Leeds’ backline if they are able to sign him, but should only move if they can get Liverpool to agree to a lower fee than £10 million.
