Sam Greenwood has shared an image of himself back in Leeds United training ahead of Friday’s clash with West Bromwich Albion.
Greenwood posted the photo onto his Instagram story on Tuesday afternoon, as he closes in on a return to first team action.
The 21-year-old has been absent since Leeds’ first friendly of pre-season against Manchester United at the beginning of July, with the nature of his injury having been unclear.
That said, Greenwood has been pictured walking around in a protective boot, which would indicate he has been suffering with some sort of knee or foot injury.
Daniel Farke confirmed at the end of last week ahead of the trip to Birmingham City he had returned to training, but due to how long he had been out, did not feature at all at St Andrews.

However, with another week of training under his belt, he is now expected to be in the squad against West Brom in what is a boost to Farke.
Leeds’ squad has been hampered both by injuries, as well as Wilfried Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra’s refusal to play as they seek moves elsewhere.
As such, Leeds were only able to name eight substitutes for the trip to the West Midlands last week, two of which were goalkeepers.
While Greenwood hasn’t exactly set pulses racing since his breakthrough into the first team, it is another body for Farke to have at his disposal, which is desperately needed given the lack of signings.
Greenwood will provide extra competition for that advanced midfield area, which was short of any cutting edge and creativity last weekend.
