Marcos Abad will leave his role as Leeds United’s goalkeeper coach after Daniel Farke’s appointment as manager on Tuesday.
That is according to Phil Hay of the Athletic, who reports Abad is set to exit as part of ‘changes instigated’ by Farke’s arrival at Elland Road.
Abad has spent six-years in his role as goalkeeper coach at Leeds, first joining the club in 2017 as a recommendation of Victor Orta, who also left his respective position as sporting director in May.
As per the report, Farke met with Leeds staff yesterday after his appointment, though Abad is not someone who will be working alongside him as he gets set to leave the club.
Farke has brought three members of staff alongside him to Thorp Arch, with Eddie Riemer, Christopher John and Chris Domogalla all making the move after working with him at Norwich City, Krasnodar and Borussia Monchengladbach.

Abad has worked alongside a number of goalkeepers in his time at Leeds, including the likes of Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Kiko Casilla and Illan Meslier.
Until Meslier was able to establish himself as number one in March 2020, goalkeeper had been a problem position for Leeds under Abad’s tenure.
Meslier was able to continue to grow into a highly promising young shot-stopper alongside Abad, until the second half of this season where he made a string of costly errors.
So with that in mind, Meslier has arguably not developed into the player Leeds had hoped he would be by this stage of his career, with some sections of supporters putting that down to Abad and his coaching.
Leeds will now need to bring in a new goalkeeper coach ahead of the start of the Championship season next month.
