Leeds United have been warned that now is the wrong time to part company with head coach Daniel Farke, despite their poor run of Premier League form.

Daniel Farke is under increasing pressure to turn around Leeds’ form, as they ended the weekend inside the Premier League relegation zone for the first time this season.

Leeds fell to defeat against Aston Villa, despite taking an early lead, to register their third consecutive top-flight defeat, ramping up the speculation around the Leeds boss’s future.

Farke addressed the growing pressure on his position after the game, stating that he accepted the scrutiny on the day he agreed to move to Elland Road, as calls grow for his departure.

Now, Paraag Marathe and the Leeds board have been told that it would be the wrong time to sack Farke, despite another disappointing defeat.

Leeds United told it is the wrong time to sack Daniel Farke

A Leeds United News poll shows that the majority of fans want Farke to leave his role as head coach; however, this is not the view of former Premier League player Robbie Mustoe.

Speaking on NBC’s Two Robbies Podcast, the former Middlesbrough man told Leeds that they should stand by their manager, having seen Leeds fight for their boss in the defeat against Villa.

Mustoe said: “I see a decent Leeds team.  That’s what I see.  I see a decent team that is trying for their manager, who has the fans still behind them, and they gave Villa a very difficult game in the first half, making it very hard for them.

“It’s a decent team.  I wrote it down. They lack a little bit of quality in the final third. I just sometimes think, if I’m looking at a team and we’ve seen many of them that look out of ideas. The relationship looks wrong, it’s bad, the energy’s bad.”

“Leeds look decent to me.  And I know where they are on the league table.  This is a very hard league to survive in.  You know, Burnley, Leeds, now two of the promoted sides are in the bottom three.

“But it’s not always the manager.  But I understand it, I get it.  If you’re in the bottom three, at some point, they’ll say, ‘Well, it looks like we’ve got to change a manager, and see if he can make a difference.’ That’s not yet for me.  It’s just not.”

Daniel Farke must consider a change of system for Leeds United’s difficult run of fixtures

Following the defeat against Villa, Leeds have now fallen behind Farke’s target run rate of one point per game for the first time this season.

With Leeds’ well-documented difficult run of fixtures now well and truly upon the Leeds boss, he must find a way to rediscover their defensive solidity.

Mixed messages involving Daniel Farke after the Aston Villa loss…

“The longer this run continues for Leeds, you would fear for the manager.”

Jamie Carragher

“For me, replacing the manager, I’m not sure it’s definitely the right thing to do now, given the games we have coming up.”

Aidy White

“Believe me, in terms of pressure, the first day you walk in the door as Leeds United manager, you have pressure.”

Daniel Farke

Farke called out the left side of the Leeds defence after the game, and the Whites have leaked too many goals down that flank this season.

With that in mind, it may be time to switch to a five at the back against Manchester City, recalling Jaka Bijol to play between Pascal Struijk and Joe Rodon to provide more defensive cover for the difficult assignments on the horizon.
