Paraag Marathe personally rates fringe Leeds United player ‘very highly’

Paraag Marathe has expressed his admiration for one player in the Leeds United dressing room.

After what has been a successful transfer window this summer, the Leeds hierarchy deserve a pat on the back.

Although not all business is yet complete, Adam Underwood has played a pivotal role in improving Daniel Farke’s plans.

There has been plenty of praise for the recruitment as Underwood pulled off a ‘steal’ in Sean Longstaff.

The Whites’ personnel have done a brilliant job, but now Marathe might have the next say in a big decision at Elland Road.

Mateo Joseph has big admiration from Paraag Marathe at Leeds United

With the incomings across the window being a success, the Peacocks now need to look at offloading players.

Ten players could still exit Leeds as Farke has left the door wide open, but a player who he seemingly didn’t want to see go is Mateo Joseph.

This comes after Joseph’s refusal to train with Leeds, as the German has been left with no choice but to let the young striker return to Spain, which meets his needs.

However, according to The Athletic, sources at the club suggest that Marathe rates the 21-year-old ‘very highly’ and the owner could be the difference in the Spanish star staying or going.

Of course, the club will know what’s best for the youngster, but with Joseph getting the approval from the club’s main chief, it could suggest Marathe would be disappointed if he were sold this window.

In fact, it appears as though a loan is ‘very likely’ for Joseph, as this looks to be his only option.

Leeds United only want loan deal for Mateo Joseph and nothing else

There is a clear divide between the striker and manager right now, as it seemed like Farke wasn’t too impressed by the youngster’s actions.

Joseph must learn from Willy Gnonto, who was in a similar position not long ago, with him forcing a move, but now having a smile back on his face.

Adding to this, the club do not actually want to sell the young striker despite his actions, as following on in the report from the outlet, sources don’t see any sense in a ‘pre-agreed option’ in the 21-year-old’s contract.

There is a risk that if the Leeds star performs on loan, the option to make him permanent would be a mistake, as his value could ‘skyrocket’ if he joined Real Betis, who remain the most interested party.

If it were up to Marathe, Joseph wouldn’t be going anywhere, but if you’re in the striker’s shoes, game time is wanted, and a loan looks like his best chance.
