Independent reported Miguel Delaney has given a further update to this morning’s story that Leeds United had made an approach to bring in Arne Slot as the club’s new manager – claiming Slot is “seriously considering” joining Leeds.
Slot, 44, is starring as Feyenoord manager. In what is only his second season as manager of the Eredivisie side, he has pushed Feyenoord to the top of the Eredivisie table. That is, despite the rivalry of PSV and the financial power of Ajax.
The Dutch manager has never set foot out of Holland in both his playing career, or since becoming a manager. Neither, has he won the Eredivisie. But this season, he has a real chance of doing so. It may tempt him to remain at Feyenoord.
The Independent reported on Thursday morning that Leeds had made an approach for Slot. It comes after the Dutch boss spoke about interest from Leeds, suggesting he would be open to considering an offer from the Yorkshire club.
Now, Delaney has posted an update on Twitter – furthering his own story about an offer from Leeds. He says he has been ‘told’ that Slot is ‘seriously considering’ a move to Leeds – but, leaving Feyenoord in first place is a ‘wrench’.

We highlighted that this would be a tricky move for Slot to make. Having never won the League in a division he has spent his entire playing career. Then as a manager – he would surely want to stay and win it, in what is his best chance.
But Leeds are pushing hard after missing out on Rayo Vallecano’s Andoni Iraola. Celtic’s Ange Postecoglou is not going to leave Glasgow. Carlos Corberan has signed a new deal at West Brom. Luis Sinisterra worked with Slot last season.
