Feyenoord manager Arne Slot has told ESPN Netherlands that he has “heard” about interest from Leeds United but says he has not been contacted about replacing Jesse Marsch – but hints he would be keen on a move to Elland Road.

The 44-year-old manager has emerged as the new front runner to take over at Elland Road. It comes after a move for Andoni Iraola hit the skids, with Rayo Vallecano seemingly unwilling to let the impressive Spaniard leave at this point.

So, Slot could be the next one on the list. The Independent report this morning that Leeds have made an approach to bring Slot to Yorkshire. It comes after Slot watched his Feyenoord side draw 4-4 but beat NEC on penalties last night.

Last night, he was asked by ESPN if he had been contacted by Leeds. He said that nothing has appeared on his phone, but that he would open the offer if and when it does arrive. Potentially, hinting that he is open to a move to Leeds.

“Have not heard anything. I have read it, I follow Voetbal Primeur and Voetbal International. I haven’t seen anything on my phone. What will I do when a message comes in from Leeds? Open the message,” Slot told ESPN Netherlands.

Feyenoord manager Slot has heard about interest from Leeds

Slot has been superb this season. In what is only his second season as manager of Feyenoord, Slot is guiding his side to an Eredivisie title – ahead of the much more financially capable Ajax. They reached the last eight of the Cup, too.

The Dutch gaffer has spent his entire professional career in the Netherlands. Throughout his entire professional career, and then in his initial years as a manager – managing AZ Alkmaar and now Feyenoord for the past 18 months.

His desire to secure the Eredivisie title will be big. But, will the lure of Leeds and the Premier League tempt him? Well, it is clear that Slot will listen to any offer Leeds have to make. According to the Independent, contact has been made.
