Brandon Williams has previously played under new Leeds United boss Daniel Farke during a loan spell at Norwich from Manchester United, and back in 2021, he gave his verdict on the German gaffer after his move to East Anglia.
Williams, 22, is expected to leave Manchester United this summer after managing just one senior outing under Erik ten Hag last season. His contract at Old Trafford – which is worth a huge £53,000 a week – is set to end next June.
The Independent say that Farke wants a reunion with Williams at Leeds. The Whites want a new left-back. Junior Firpo is likely to go, and Leo Hjelde has been linked with a move to Italy. Improvement is needed, even if they stay.
Having joined Norwich in 2021 for the upcoming Premier League campaign, Williams said he was excited to join because of Farke’s style of play at Carrow Road – something which the German is looking to install at Elland Road.
“I like the way they play. I’ve watched them over the years. The club like to play out from the back and play football. That really inspired me to come here. The head coach can really improve me as a player,” he told Norwich’s site.

Williams is a player with plenty of potential, and a future Premier League player. He might even go on to win England caps. But he needs a home where he can play regularly and Leeds can give him that. We simply need new players.
If it means that getting Williams in instead of a more-expensive, trickier deal, then so be it. Farke is said to want to sign players he knows well – hence Sam Byram – and Williams is another. His arrival would surely see Firpo depart.
