Leeds United loanee Rasmus Kristensen has been heavily criticised by the Danish media after his performance for Denmark in their defeat to Northern Ireland on Monday night.
Kasper Hjulmand’s men missed the chance to end their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign on a high, handing Northern Ireland only their third win in a group which also includes San Marino.

Rasmus Kristensen has endured a disappointing season to date. He has become a more peripheral figure out on loan with Roma. And his latest international display hardly sent a message to Jose Mourinho.
Northern Ireland hit the post in the first-half after Kristensen misjudged a header and sent the ball towards his own goal. And the evening hardly got any better for the right-back.
Danish outlet Ekstra Bladet gave Kristensen a score of 2/6. And they did not hold back in their criticism of the defender.
“What worked on the Danish left was something close to a disaster on the right. Nissen began the match by gifting Northern Ireland a free runner and seemed completely crazy throughout the game. Bad,” they wrote.
Leeds need to find buyer for right-back
Unfortunately, the £10 million move for the 26-year-old has simply not worked out. Kristensen showed a couple of promising early signs. However, there were also a few costly mistakes early on. And he never really improved from there.
In truth, it is hard to see Kristensen playing for Leeds again. It is surely best for all parties if the club manage to find a buyer for him next summer when his loan at Roma comes to an end.
Leeds have not addressed their problems at right-back in the long-term. Hopefully, Djed Spence will come good and prove to be an inspired signing. But he is only on loan.
So it is going to be an issue Daniel Farke needs to look at next summer.
However, it says everything that few Leeds fans appear to be calling for Kristensen to make a return in the future.
