A member of the Leeds United squad that suffered relegation to the Championship in 2022/23 has emerged as a potential transfer target for Manchester United.

Victor Orta did not achieve much success in his last few months as Sporting Director at Leeds, as a succession of poor transfer decisions came back to bite the club.

Leeds are still managing the fallout of some of Orta’s deals, as Max Wober spends another season away from the club on loan.

One of the few bright sparks of Orta’s recruitment was the signing of Tyler Adams, who impressed at Leeds before falling out of favour with the fans when he left the club to join Bournemouth.

If Adams thought the reception he received was bad when he returned to Elland Road earlier this season, it could be about to get even worse, as Manchester United consider a move for the USA international.

Which former Leeds player would you have back, if you could pick one? Raphinha surely has to be up there💎

Manchester United considering move for ex-Leeds United star Tyler Adams

Speaking on The United Stand podcast, journalist Ben Jacobs revealed that Leeds’ arch-rivals Man Utd were considering a move for the former Leeds man.

Having also been linked with former Leeds target Noah Sadiki, Man Utd are reportedly in the market to strengthen in the centre of midfield.

However, any move would not take place until the summer, as Adams focuses on the build-up to the 2026 World Cup.

Jacobs said: “But a new name that Manchester United are looking at at the moment is Tyler Adams, who is doing very well at Bournemouth.

“And there is a possibility that Tyler Adams moves in 2026. As far as I’m aware, it would be more for the summer rather than anything leading up to a big World Cup and a home World Cup for him.”

Tyler Adams’ deal could open the door for Leeds United transfer move

Reports that Adams could move to Old Trafford come amid uncertainty over the future of Man Utd midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.

The England international, once thought of as one of the most talented players in the Premier League, has been frozen out of the first-team picture under head coach Ruben Amorim.

Do Leeds even NEED signings after enjoying success with a 3-5-2 formation?

We speak about what is possible (privately) but it’s not my job to speak in public about it or judge it in any way. I deal with what I’ve got. Of course I want the best possible squad, the best possible players and to improve the players as much as possible, but I don’t own the club

Leeds have been linked with a move for Mainoo in recent weeks, with the Whites reportedly considering a potential loan move for the midfielder.

With Adams and Sadiki both on the Red Devils’ radar, it appears that Mainoo’s chances of forcing his way back into the first team are limited, which could open the door for the Whites.
