Daniel Farke’s job security is strong once again after a brilliant week as Leeds United manager and arguably, his best in terms of proving his tactical nous as a manager.
Ahead of Chelsea and Liverpool, Farke’s job was in danger, and the 49ers supposedly challenged him to get a result against one of Leeds’ next two opponents. Well, he went one better, winning four points.
Daniel Farke’s job is safe for now, can he get a result against Brentford? 🔮
A win against Chelsea, followed by a 3-3 draw against Liverpool, has guided Farke to 16th in the Premier League and back to the point-a-game curve. It wasn’t luck either; it was Farke’s change of formation.
It worked to perfection against Chelsea. When it didn’t work against Liverpool, Farke changed formation mid-game; it proved to be the difference. Now, Farke takes his Leeds side to London to face Brentford.

Mick McCarthy shares verdict on rumours about Daniel Farke
Farke has saved his job, with Gary Neville saying the 49ers will have ripped up plans to oust the German gaffer. On The Managers podcast, Mick McCarthy branded the rumours around Farke as “ridiculous”.
“Daniel Farke is a lovely guy. I met him at the end of last season and had a good chat with him. When they thought they might be replacing him, I just thought that was ridiculous,” McCarthy says, on Farke.
“He’s one of those managers that they always talk about, ‘he might be going, he might be going etc’. Performance against Man City, brilliant. The two results they just had, incredible. I’m delighted for him.”
How many points can Leeds get from the next five games? 🔮
How long does Daniel Farke have now at Leeds United?
Farke has a contract at Leeds until the summer of 2027 and come January, that will enter the final 18 months. If the 49ers are intent on keeping Farke, a new deal might be considered in the coming months.
But the results against Liverpool and Chelsea have certainly afforded Farke some time. He will certainly stay in the dugout until January, as long as he remains or sticks close to the point-a-game line this term.
Over the next three games, Leeds have a real chance to pick up some points. A Brentford side that have tailed off, a Crystal Palace side who will be shattered. Oliver Glasner suggests he will make 11 changes.
Then, a Sunderland side that will wave goodbye to six key players to the African Cup of Nations in four days. So, Leeds have a real chance of points over the next few games to pick up some points.
