Marc Roca has shared his verdict on whether he wants to see Leeds United get promoted this season.
Roca is currently away on a season-long-loan from Leeds at Real Betis and as it stands, would be returning to West Yorkshire in the summer, with a permanent deal yet to be put in place.
That said, Leeds are already reported to have decided that none of the players who went out on loan after relegation will be welcomed back into the squad for next season.
Having lost so many members of last season’s first team squad in the summer, Leeds rebuilt well and currently sit second in the Championship, with a realistic chance of promotion.
Speaking in an interview with El Desmarque, Roca says he would love to see his parent club return to the Premier League, even if it would have an effect on his future.

He said: “There is a clause like this year. If Leeds is not in the Premier League, I can go on loan again. Let’s see. It depends on whether they go up or not. They are things out of my control.
“I sincerely want you to go up, because I wish all the teams I have been in and wish you the best. I am grateful to them, I wish them the best, it has been my home, and from there we will see.”
Based on what he has said, it would actually be easier for Roca if Leeds did remain in the Championship as it would allow him to return on Betis on loan for a second season.
This would then skip the negotiations over a potential transfer fee, which could be difficult given Betis’ tight finances. Leeds would also have more bargaining power in the Premier League.
However, it is nice to hear that he is still rooting for his parent club after such a difficult debut campaign at Elland Road, and hopefully there is an amicable parting of ways in the summer.
