Ryan Kent has completed a move to Turkish side Fenerbahce on a free transfer from Rangers, ending any chances of the long-term Leeds United target swapping Ibrox for Elland Road – where he could link up with Gjanni Alioski.

Kent, 26, ends a five-year stint at Rangers in which he clocked up 218 outings in both league and cup. The ex-Reds winger has had a hand in 89 goals, winning the League title. Kent of course, has been linked with us time after time.

In 2021, The Scottish Sun reported that Leeds made an offer to sign Kent for a fee of £11m in 2020. A year later, the report also says that Marcelo Bielsa told Leeds to sign him. Tuttomercatoweb say Leeds have looked this summer.

But now, those rumours can come to an end. That is because Fenerbahce have confirmed that they have completed the signing of Kent on a free transfer. They posted a video of Kent on Twitter, announcing himself as a new signing.

Long-term Leeds United target Ryan Kent completes Fenerbahce move

A move to Fenerbahce could see Kent link up with Gjanni Alioski. A Leeds icon that has spent the season on loan at Fenerbahce, helping them win the Turkish Cup on Sunday. He has missed his last nine Fener games due to an injury.

Alioski is only on loan at Fener and it remains to be seen if the SuperLig heavyweights will turn his temporary move into a permanent one, from Al-Ahli SFC. Also, Kent links up with £9m Leeds target Bright Osayi-Samuel (A Spor).

While Kent would certainly have impressed in the Championship with Leeds had he been given the chance to come in for the likely-to-leave Jack Harrison – a move to Fenerbahce is also an exciting moment in his growing career.
