Leeds United are closing in on a deal for Max Aarons as the Whites look to overcome a string of injury issues – and Daniel Farke will be reuniting with a player, that he once described as one of the best players in the Championship.
Aarons, 23, is in the final year of his contract at Norwich and Leeds are seemingly set to take advantage. The 49ers are in advanced talks to bring the full-back to Elland Road – even though, Leeds are well-stocked on the right flank.
Luke Ayling remains, while Cody Drameh is returning from an injury issue. So, it will be interesting to see what Farke does with a deal for Aarons close. The Pink Un say Leeds are in advanced talks over a deal that could reach £12m.
Of course, Farke gave Aarons his debut back in 2018. A player that has gone on to play 213 times for his boyhood club. Now, Farke and Aarons will reunite – a player Farke once described as one of the best in the Championship.

“He is just a special player. An unbelievable future,” Farke told the Pink Un in 2020. “He has been labelled as one of the best young players in this league. He is no longer one of the best young players, he is one of the best players.”
Leeds close in on Aarons, Farke said he is one of the best in League
Well, Aarons is a wonderful signing and a player with Premier League quality. One that has plenty of potential, too. Luke Ayling’s contract ends at the end of the season and will eventually need replacing. Cody Drameh has interest.
It will be interesting to see what Farke chooses to do when all three are fit. Aarons can play as a left-back and has done so under Farke. But he is best on the right and of the three, is easily the best option. £12m seems a bargain.
