Despite the horde of players bound to arrive at Leeds United this summer, it looks like we might yet have an outgoing before anyone is signed.
The list of Leeds United transfer targets is growing every day. More and more players are being linked with summer moves to West Yorkshire and there’s some really exciting potential signings in the pipeline.
On Tuesday, it was reported that Leeds United are in talks to sign Alex Moreno from Aston Villa this summer. The left-back could be snapped up by Daniel Farke who still faces the prospect of losing Junior Firpo this summer.
Firpo is looking likely to leave Leeds United and journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Real Betis want to sign the former Barcelona man. Betis are also keen on Firpo’s Leeds United teammate Mateo Joseph this summer.

Mateo Joseph hits out at Leeds United game time amid Elland Road exit talks
Joseph, 21, played 39 times in the Championship for Leeds United in 2024/25. He started 11 games and ended the season with three goals in the league. Since the end of the campaign though, there’s been a lot of talk about the Spanish U21 international potentially leaving the club this summer.
Real Betis are being linked with Joseph who is reportedly valued at just under £13million by Elland Road officials. And Joseph has now suggested his unrest at Leeds United under Farke, hitting out about his lack of minutes in the Championship last time round.
Speaking to Spanish outlet El Mundo, Joseph said: “I started playing quite a bit and then went from everything to nothing. It was a blow, and that’s coming off the back of last year, which was also very tough. It’s important to invest in yourself to get the best out of yourself, and I try to rely on all the tools available to us.”

The latest on Mateo Joseph’s Leeds United future
In June, it was revealed that Real Betis were set to enter talks to sign Joseph this summer, after the La Liga club saw a £10million bid for the Leeds United man rejected back in January.
But Farke has hatched a new plan for Joseph. It’s now being reported that Leeds United want to keep Joseph and would rather loan him out than let him go on a permanent basis, with Farke ready to see how Joseph fares at the U21s Euros this summer before making a firm call.
Recent reports have also revealed how Ligue 1 Strasbourg are interested in signing Joseph this summer, too.
So there’s no shortage of interest in Joseph this summer, and his recent comments to Spanish media only serve to fuel speculation that he’s about to leave Leeds United this summer. Though expect little to be reported on the player until the U21 Euros come to an end later in the summer.
