It was a comfortable run out for Daniel Farke’s Leeds United on Saturday afternoon ahead of a busy week as his side eased to a 3-0 win over Coventry City at Elland Road.
The first of three games in six days saw Leeds host Coventry. A side that took five points off Leeds last season but a side that only had one win in six Championship affairs, with Mark Robins under pressure.
So it proved to be the case. Wilfried Gnonto gave Leeds the lead with a gorgeous finish from the edge of the box after a neat cut-back from Junior Firpo, the star’s tenth Championship assist this calendar year.
Jayden Bogle got his name on the score sheet for the first time after neat interplay with Largie Ramazani, who started again with Manor Solomon still sidelined due to a back injury picked up after Burnley.
Then, Joel Piroe continued his magnificent form off the bench. Piroe has eight goals in 2024 and five have come the bench, with all three goals this season coming as a sub but it was Bogle that caught the eye.

The £5m arrival from Sheffield United has endured a difficult start at Leeds. Conceding a penalty against Portsmouth, Andy Hinchcliffe said Bogle was “all over the place” as Leeds beat Sheffield Wednesday.
But in the win over Cardiff, Bogle showed why Daniel Farke had signed him. Against Coventry, Bogle went one better with a superb performance and to boot, his first Leeds goal and his side’s second of the day.
Neat exchanges with Largie Ramazani saw Bogle find the back of the net and after the game, he posted on Instagram: “First goal feeling! Great win at home & a solid clean sheet. Thank you for the support.”

Given his tricky start, Bogle will have been delighted to have got on the score sheet. While there will be tougher tests for Leeds and Bogle, with his defending under the spotlight, he is gaining some confidence.
Among those to reply to his post included two former Sheffield United teammates in £23.5m signing Rhian Brewster as well as Oli McBurnie while a handful of Leeds players also commented on Bogle’s post.
It is a quick turnaround for Bogle and his Leeds teammates as the Whites take on Norwich City on Tuesday night before going to Sunderland on Friday, in a busy six-day period involving three games.
But momentum is growing at Elland Road and even those players coming into the last few games with doubts are starting to show what they can do, much like Bogle who is sure to start on Tuesday night.
