Junior Firpo’s Leeds United future remains a talking point. The full-back is out of contract in the summer but has recently come back into the XI, with some impressive performances too.
Junior Firpo reminded everyone at Leeds United of his quality when he returned to the XI for the 7-0 win over Cardiff City earlier in February, grabbing himself three assists in the game.
He’s since started every league game for Daniel Farke’s side, who’ve won four out of four since the 28-year-old former Barcelona man returned to the starting XI at left-back.
As things stand, Firpo sees his Leeds United contract expire in the summer. He’s one of a handful of players whose Elland Road deals expire in the summer along with Sam Byram and Josuha Guilavogui.
After four seasons at Leeds, with some mixed performances and spells along the way, there’s a lot of debate about whether or not Leeds will hand Firpo a new deal, likewise if Firpo wants to stay in West Yorkshire beyond this season.

Junior Firpo changes agent amid Leeds United contract uncertainty
There’d no doubt be a lot of clubs ready to sign Firpo in the summer, should he become a free agent. In the January transfer window, Firpo had links to Besiktas and Real Betis which may suggest that there’d be a queue of clubs ready to take a punt on the Dominican in the summer.
Now, Italian journalist Nicolo Schira has revealed on X that Firpo has in fact changed agencies ahead of the summer. He’s joined You First agency which currently represents a number of Spanish players, including the likes of PSG’s Fabian Ruiz and RB Leipzig’s Christoph Baumgartner.
Firpo was previously represented by an agency called Sports & Life, with Firpo being one of their biggest clients along with Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz.

What Daniel Farke says about Junior Firpo’s Leeds United future
Inevitably, Farke isn’t thinking about player contracts right now. All focus is on earning promotion, and more specifically on the upcoming promotion showdown with Sheffield United at Bramall Lane next Monday.
But speaking earlier in the month, Farke was asked about Firpo’s contract and about the futures of the likes of Byram and Guilavogui.
The Leeds boss said: “At the moment, there is no time to be distracted contract talks… There is no time to waste energy about individuals or what happens in the next six months, we’ll have some proper conversations when it’s time to do this.”
But Firpo moving agencies, and to an agency that represents a lot of Spanish players at Spanish clubs, could indicate his willingness to leave and potentially return to Spain in the summer.
