Leeds United could look to bring in another attacking player this month.
Aside from Georginio Rutter, the Whites’ front four is currently missing someone capable of providing that final killer pass, which has been evident in their recent defeats on the road.
Leeds look desperately short of creative ideas when sides are able to double up and nullify Rutter, and so another creative player in the squad who can play in those central areas could be crucial.
One player who has been linked is Bournemouth’s David Brooks, but there is perhaps an even better Premier League player who could be available to sign on loan this month.
And that man is Burnley’s Manuel Benson. However, according to reports from the Hull Daily Mail, Hull City are in talks to sign him and so Leeds will have to make their move quickly.
Leeds should move for Burnley’s Benson
Leeds should look to do all they can to hijack this move after the way Benson ripped up the Championship in Burnley’s title winning campaign last year.
Benson has played just eight minutes of Premier League football since September and is seemingly well down the pecking order at Turf Moor, despite scoring 12 goals in an ‘electric’ 2022/23 campaign.
The 26-year-old can play both as a number 10, or right winger and his profile is exactly what the current squad is lacking.
Leeds have plenty of wingers in the squad, but aside from fringe player Ian Poveda, all of which are right-footed. Three of them are also far more effective playing off the left.

Benson would provide Daniel Farke with a quality option on the right-hand-side, who can cut inside onto his left, whether to shoot, or create something. That could also free up space for the overlapping Djed Spence.
Dan James has put up some impressive numbers this season but is very ineffective in away matches where sides are happy to sit back and defend.
Benson, however, is a completely different type of player who could be that final piece of the jigsaw needed to address that poor form on the road.
