Leeds United now want to sign ‘incredible’ defender who won Player of the Season last year

Leeds United are reportedly among a host of clubs interested in signing Liverpool defender Conor Bradley.

Daniel Farke has confirmed Leeds are in the market for a new full-back when the window opens next month, though this link to Bradley could come as a surprise given he plays on the right.

Both Sam Byram and Junior Firpo are currently out injured, leaving Leeds without a fit and available recognised left-back. Djed Spence had to play there at Sunderland on Tuesday, in what was his full debut.

However, according to Team Talk, Leeds are set to battle it out with a ‘dozen’ clubs for the signature of the 20-year-old, with Middlesbrough, Burnley and West Brom among those keen.

Liverpool are said to be prepared to send Bradley out on loan in January after his lack of game time so far this term, having had such an impressive campaign in League One last season, where he won the club’s player of the season.

Bradley a talent, but not what Leeds need

Bradley’s former Bolton teammate Dion Charles hailed the Liverpool youngster as ‘incredible’ earlier this season, who is capable of going as far as he wants in the game.

While Bradley is clearly an impressive talent, he is just not what Leeds need in January, given how well stocked they are at right-back.

At the moment, Spence is a considerably better and more proven player at this level, and once he reverts back to his favoured right-back spot, Leeds’ team will go up another level.

Archie Gray has filled in admirably in Spence’s absence over the last few weeks, while Jamie Shackleton and Luke Ayling have struggled to even get on the bench in recent matches.

Leeds should be focusing all their attention on the other side of the defence given Byram and Firpo’s injury woes, and bringing in another right footed full-back would be strange.
