Sean Longstaff is a Leeds United player and his new squad number might have been accidentally revealed by the club.
They left it late, but Leeds United have ended the week on a high by confirming the signing of Sean Longstaff from Newcastle United.
Leeds have signed Longstaff for £12m, a fee which could rise as high as £15m if certain appearance and relegation avoidance clauses are met.
The Newcastle native has signed a four-year contract at Elland Road as he says goodbye to the club he joined aged just nine.
But after falling out of favour under Eddie Howe, Longstaff is now eager to make a big impact under Daniel Farke and help keep Leeds in the Premier League.
Longstaff is Leeds’ fifth signing of the summer transfer window, following Lukas Nmecha, Jaka Bijol, Sebastiaan Bornauw and Gabriel Gudmundsson through the door.
The club have been coy about revealing the new signings’ squad numbers as of yet, but might have slipped and shared what shirt Longstaff will be wearing at the club.

Longstaff Leeds United squad number potentially revealed
Longstaff gave a funny and engaging interview upon signing for the club with fellow Northumberlander Michael Bridges.
While discussing his excitement about a new challenge, his emotion at saying goodbye to Newcastle and his memories of playing against Leeds, it was impossible to miss the number emblazoned on his new Leeds training jacket.
Longstaff was wearing the No.8 during the interview, which suggests that it will be his new squad number at the club.
There was speculation the number could be saved for Anton Stach, who Leeds are also working to sign, but he might have to select another should he arrive.
While the squad numbers are not yet confirmed, it’s a good indicator of what he’ll be wearing for the club, and Saturday’s friendly against Manchester United could reveal even more.
Lukas Nmecha’s Leeds squad number also revealed
As well as Longstaff, it also appears that Nmecha’s squad number has been revealed.
At the 1:40 mark in the interview, Longstaff can be seen clasping hands with his new teammate, who is sporting the No.14 on his training vest.
The number was worn by Manor Solomon last year and there was initially hope he could reclaim it this season, but he has decided to stay at Tottenham.
Though it’s harder to tell due to the angle, it also appears that Bornauw has been assigned No.23 vacated by Josuha Guilavogui this summer, or perhaps the No.33 he has worn previously.
