Speaking after Leeds United had secured the Championship title, Paraag Marathe told supporters that Leeds will spend every possible penny this summer. But, they’ve just missed out on £10m.

Leeds will be in the Premier League next season after Daniel Farke guided The Whites to promotion at the second attempt. With all 46 games played, the title secured and the parade done – focus turns to 25-26.

Marathe will need to get his cheque book out and regularly, if Leeds are to survive in the Premier League next season. Adam Pope believes Leeds will need to make six major signings and spend north of £100m.

A goalkeeper, a centre-back, a replacement for Junior Firpo, a midfielder, a winger or Manor Solomon, a no.10 and a striker are required this summer. Leeds need every penny as Marathe promises to spend big.

Leeds might be finished for the season but the Champions League remains ongoing, with Elland Road icon Raphinha in action on Tuesday night. Barcelona faced Inter Milan in the San Siro after a 3-3 first leg.

It was enthralling first leg and on Tuesday, Raphinha thought he had sent Barcelona through – putting his side 3-2 ahead on the night late on. But Inter equalised and in extra-time, Davide Frattesi netted a winner.
