Leeds United handed boost as ‘ridiculous’ prospect returns after seven-month injury

Daniel Farke will need as many players as possible available for Leeds United’s Championship promotion run-in.

Leeds were handed a big boost in the Championship on Friday night as promotion rivals Burnley drew 0-0 with Sunderland.

This can allow Farke’s side to increase the gap over Burnley to three points if the Whites win against Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.

Farke provided an injury boost as Leeds can extend their unbeaten run to nine games in the Championship with a win.

There is now also good news coming out of the Leeds academy as a long-term absentee is almost back to full fitness.

Leeds United prospect Harry Gray back after seven-month injury

Archie Gray was an incredible talent at Leeds United after his only season at the club got him a move to the Premier League with Tottenham.

Gray has already been ‘fantastic’ at Tottenham which Leeds fans won’t show any surprise to, but now they can look forward to someone close to the 18-year-old.

Archie’s brother, Harry, who is 16, is meant to follow in the footsteps of his older brother as Farke believes Harry Gray is ‘full of potential’.

The young striker did suffer a setback in the summer, whilst with the Leeds senior squad in pre-season, Gray labelled it as a “great experience” but confirmed to fans that he had picked up a new injury.

This kept him out until the new year, which has now passed, and after seven months, Gray has taken to Instagram to speak on his return.

The youngster said: “First game back after 7 months out. Nice W”

Gray is Leeds’ next big talent at Elland Road

The two brothers share similarities, but they don’t share the same position which could work out in Harry’s favour in Leeds’ current squad.

Gray plays as a striker and at just 16 has shown he can be Leeds’ next promising star following right behind his brother.

Leeds can develop the young talisman as there has been ‘no suggestion’ that Leeds will cash in on Gray.

Aaron Lennon has taken a key eye on Gray, after working with the Whites last season.

Lennon described Gray as ‘ridiculous’ and ‘frightening’ and believed everyone would end up wanting him which could lead him to have the same fate as his brother.

However, it seems as though Gray is going to keep his head grounded and try and make a push for Farke’s plans after his long-term absence.
