Leeds United have stretched their lead over 18th-placed West Ham to eight points with Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Man United, in what was a heated clash between the two rivals.
Before the run of seven games in which Leeds have picked up 11 points, winning twice and drawing five games, was a run of six losses in the previous seven. But Leeds and Daniel Farke have turned it round.

Now in 16th place, Leeds are well ahead of West Ham and sit comfortably ahead of Nottingham Forest. Gabi Gudmundsson refused to admit that Leeds are well-positioned and confident of achieving safety.
But Paul Merson reckons that after West Ham’s 3-0 hammering at Wolves, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are as good as down. Leeds have become tough to beat, physical and a side that others don’t want to play.
Matheus Cunha accuses Leeds United of being too physical
Brenden Aaronson continued his fine form with a second goal of the season for Leeds, after scoring against West Ham earlier this season. It was Brazil star Matheus Cunha who equalised for Man United.
Cunha was once a target for Leeds before his move to Wolves from Atletico Madrid. Speaking to Man United’s website, Cunha said Leeds “tried everything they could do to win”, claiming he has scars.
“Coming here is not easy, and this game is so big for everyone, but it’s good to win a point. It was so hard, we know what they bring to the game, they try to do everything to win. I have a lot of scars now.”

That’s seven games now that Farke has watched his Leeds side go unbeaten. An incredible turnaround, and one that has saved Farke’s job and Leeds’ fight against going down. It feels like Leeds will survive.
Of course, Leeds haven’t done anything yet. The Whites will need to maintain the ratio of points they are winning but ultimately, things look positive at the moment. Especially, with an easier run coming up.
But Farke managed to finally get a result against Man United, at the fourth time of trying. Farke had only managed three games competitively against Man United, losing all three while Norwich City manager.
Well, in his first attempt as Leeds manager, he avoided defeat. Another brilliant result, having beaten Chelsea and drawn twice with Liverpool. Farke’s reputation as Leeds manager is growing, for the better.
