Leeds United have made nine new signings so far this summer, including forwards like Noah Okafor, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Lukas Nmecha.
At least two more signings are what Daniel Farke wants to ensure his Leeds United squad is ready for a full season of Premier League football, but progress on attacking additions has been slow until recently.
Leeds have options now, with their forward line comprised of Calvert-Lewin, Nmecha, Okafor, Joel Piroe, Willy Gnonto, Dan James, Jack Harrison, Brenden Aaronson, and Largie Ramazani.
With another attacker to come in, and with Farke currently opting for a 4-3-3, that would mean 10 players for three positions. It’s a bloated attack already, but two players are already clicking in training.
Nmecha has been backed to start against Arsenal by Simon Grayson and Okafor could be involved after training this week. The pair have been sighted together already.
Leeds United fans react to Lukas Nmecha in training
Nmecha has already scored for Leeds and broken records in doing so. Josuha Guilavogui has already been impressed with Nmecha, with the pair former teammates at Wolfsburg.
Since then, he may be more impressed by what he’s seen in training. Nmecha’s touch has Leeds fans in awe, having taken to X/Twitter to explain their thoughts over the viral clip.
Another pair of responses read: “No way”, and “He could be the GOAT.”
Another said: “Lovely that 👌 #lufc #mot #leedsunited #nmecha #alaw”
A further response read: “Can’t wait to see this guy play again , what a signing on a free 😍”

Pep Guardiola and Vincent Kompany talk up Nmecha
Guardiola and Kompany both rate Nmecha, The former once said: “Lukas has great prospects. He’s hungry, he takes in everything you tell him.”
Kompany added: “He works really hard for the team. He is already a quite complete striker. He does not have any obvious weaknesses. He is one of the best strikers in Belgium. In time, he will lead for a top European team.”
But it goes beyond Nmecha’s touch and technique, with his ability to pin the opposition and run the channels. His power and pace will also help Leeds to get up the pitch. It would not be a surprise if he started the Arsenal game today.
Nmecha, as an outlet, is very similar to Calvert-Lewin and it may well mean Joel Piroe’s days are numbered as the primary centre-forward.
