Leeds United fell to their second defeat of the Championship season on Wednesday evening when they were beaten 1-0 by a resolute Millwall side at The Den in a performance that left frustrated fans feeling like they had seen it all before.
Daniel Farke made one change for the trip to south London, reinstating Jayden Bogle at right-back following his one-match suspension, meaning Sam Byram dropped to the bench.
The first half was largely a quiet affair, with Leeds unable to carve out any real chances before Millwall opened the scoring from a set-piece five minutes before the break, when Jake Cooper headed a ball down to Japhet Tanganga to poke the ball home.
Leeds did have the ball in the back of the next just after the hour mark when Joel Piroe tucked away a Bogle delivery, only for the offside flag to go up, in what looked like a marginal decision.

Daniel Farke roll of the dice falls flat
Farke’s last roll of the dice was to introduce strikers Patrick Bamford and Mateo Joseph for the final ten minutes, but Leeds were unable to break down their stubborn hosts as they slumped to a second defeat of the Championship season.
Following the final whistle, Leeds fans were left frustrated at seeing their team unable to break down a side playing with a low block, recalling a number of similar games last season that arguably cost Leeds promotion.
“Why have we not learned a single thing from last year?,” asked another. “Have watched this exact game play out too many times the last year plus…”
Another posted: “Never going to win anything with performances like that. Just not good enough against teams who park the bus”
Leeds likely to face another low block next
The defeat means that Leeds drop out of the top two following Sheffield United’s dramatic late win over Bristol City on Tuesday evening.
Next up for Leeds is the visit of struggling QPR to Elland Road on Saturday afternoon in the final fixture before the November international break.

The Hoops currently sit second-bottom in the Championship table, meaning Leeds are likely to face another defensively-minded test as they look to gain ground on the in-form Blades who have now moved two points ahead of Leeds and into the automatic promotion places.
