Leeds United have failed to score in open play in the Premier League, with Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux the next game for Daniel Farke’s side.

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has a terrible record vs Wolves, but it is a huge game for his side. It is also the first time that the German will face Wolves as Leeds manager.

Winless and rock bottom, Wolves are desperate for points. Leeds also have fonder recent memories of this fixture, having won twice in 2022/23, which was a season where they won just seven games overall in the league.

They are unbeaten in the last four league games, with three wins and a draw. Prior to that, they lost five league games in a row against their hosts. All that said, Opta believe Wolverhampton Wanderers win but Leeds survive in the end this season.

Leeds hero Kalvin Phillips debuted vs Wolves and Leeds fans will have fond memories of moments like that, but many are panicked at the situation ahead of Saturday’s showdown.

Leeds United supporters are worried ahead of Wolverhampton Wanderers trip

The referee has been selected for Wolves against Leeds already, which many may see as bad news. Better news is that one of Erling Haaland’s best friends Jorgen Strand Larsen is a doubt for Wolves.

But Leeds fans on social media aren’t bothered about that fact. They are more concerned at the team’s lack of goals. That is why they took to Twitter/X to say as much.

Rodrigo Moreno has been the hero for Leeds vs Wolves previously and one fan is already asking for someone of his calibre to step up this weekend.

Another said: “How can anyone get remotely excited for this when we dont look like creating anything let alone scoring.”

A further response read: “Wolves not won all season. We know what’s coming…..”

A further pair of replies said: “Is it true we’re changing our name by deed poll to Leeds Nil?” and also: “Please learn where the goal is lol.”

Another stated: “Massive week on the training pitch. We have to be more creative / clinical in the final 3rd.”

Aidy White’s view of Leeds changes against Wolves

Arguably, Willy Gnonto could start for Leeds. In fact, Aidy White would make one key Leeds change vs Wolves and that concerns the Italian.

He said: “In terms of personnel, I think [Brenden] Aaronson for Willy Gnonto. I’d leave [Noah] Okafor in there because he looks like the more minutes, the stronger he will get. Same with [Dominic] Calvert-Lewin; he’s going to be our main striker.

“He has got things other than goal contribution: hold-up play, other factors. If we can get good delivery from wide areas, he will score,” White added when speaking about Calvert-Lewin, who missed a good chance at Fulham.

However, Jack Harrison has an excellent record vs Wolves. He is another consideration due to being a left-footed set-piece taker and vastly different from Anton Stach.
