Leeds star Largie Ramazani shares which stadium he thinks is louder – Elland Road or Bernabeu

Largie Ramazani has delivered his verdict on which stadium has the better atmosphere out of Leeds United and Real Madrid.

Ramazani has only had one taste of Elland Road in his brief career in West Yorkshire so far, coming off the bench in Leeds’ 2-0 victory over Hull City.

The 23-year-old was a late window signing from Spanish side UD Almeria, whom he spent four years with, the last two of which were in La Liga.

During his time in Spain’s top tier, Ramazani played in two of the biggest grounds in all of world football in Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu, and Barcelona’s Camp Nou.

In fact, Ramazani actually managed to get on the scoresheet in Almeria’s trip to the Bernabeu last season, though could not prevent a 3-2 defeat.

Ramazani makes Elland Road and Bernabeu comparison

Ramazani is set for his second taste of Elland Road in this weekend’s clash against Burnley, in which he will be hoping to be handed a full debut.

When at its best, Leeds are renowned for having one of the best home atmospheres in the country and last season’s play-off semi-final win over Norwich City was evidence of that.

That said, Ramazani certainly won’t have seen the Leeds home faithful at its best in his only appearance so far, but that has not stopped him from making a big claim in an interview with BBC Radio Leeds.

Having been asked about what it is like to play at the Bernabeu, Ramazani actually claimed that Elland Road is both louder and more intimidating than the home of world football’s biggest club.

He said: “When I played at the Bernabeu it was loud, but it wasn’t intimidating, if you get what I mean. We started off winning and then they came back, it was loud but not as loud as Elland Road.

“It is different because when they score in the Bernabeu they say, ‘goal’. But in England they say, ‘yes’ and that is louder. You feel it more. But it was a great feeling.”

Ramazani tipped to be handed first Leeds start

Leeds already face one of the biggest games of their season on Saturday as they welcome fellow promotion favourites Burnley to West Yorkshire.

Ramazani could get an even bigger taste of what Elland Road has to offer if all goes to plan, and pundit Sam Parkin has tipped him to be in from the start.

He said: “It [the amount of Leeds internationals] is going to be impactful this weekend I would suggest. It is fascinating to see how that front support cast is going to look with Solomon, Gnonto and Aaronson all away.

“I think Ramazani potentially could get a start here, so we will have to keep an eye on that one. Leeds are going really well.”
