Leeds United are ready to pay £6.8 million to win the race for Bayern Munich goalkeeper Alexander Nubel.
That is according to the Daily Mail, who back up reports from the German media in claiming Leeds are favourites to secure the signature of Nubel this summer.
As per the report, Leeds are expecting to receive offers for Illan Meslier in the coming weeks and have earmarked Nubel as a target with the shot-stopper ready to leave Bayern.

Leeds are facing competition from Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart for the 26-year-old, but are said to be at the front of the queue due to their willingness to buy him permanently.
Nubel is keen to secure regular game time away from the Allianz Arena where he has both Manuel Neuer and Yann Sommer in front of him for the number one spot.
Leeds ready to pay £6.8m for Nubel
Nubel has spent the last two seasons on loan at AS Monaco, where he established himself as first choice to help them secure respective third and sixth place finishes.
Leeds are said to be ready to hand Daniel Farke an aggressive transfer budget this summer which is reflected in the fact they are willing to pay just shy of £7 million for Nubel.

This would represent a significant coup for Leeds, particularly in the Championship, with Nubel having played over 150 appearances in some of Europe’s top leagues and competitions.
All that remains unclear at this stage is whether Nubel would be willing to drop into the second tier of English football given the career he has had so far.
However, if Stuttgart are not willing to stump up the cash for a permanent move then it appears as though the door is open for Leeds to complete the transfer.
