Leeds United have had a £4 million bid rejected by Norwich City for midfielder Kenny McLean.
That is according to Sky Sports, who report the Whites have seen an offer knocked back for the 31-year-old in what is another twist to their midfield pursuit.
Leeds clearly have a number of plates spinning in terms of their search for at least one new midfielder, with McLean the latest they have made an offer for.
It feels like Daniel Farke’s side have been close to signing Rangers’ Glen Kamara for a number of weeks now, while talks are said to be ongoing with Fortuna Dusseldorg for Ao Tanaka.
As per Sky in Germany, it also appears as though their move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Nadiem Amiri is off again, despite the 26-year-old having travelled to Leeds on Monday.
Leeds see £4m bid for McLean rejected
News of Leeds’ interest in McLean first broke almost two weeks ago with Team Talk suggesting they were considering a move.
Leeds are now said to have stepped up that interest with a concrete offer of £4 million, which has been swiftly turned down by Norwich.
At 31, Leeds would be wise to move on from McLean as there are certainly better and younger options elsewhere for that sort of money.
That said, McLean is an extremely experienced Championship midfielder and has made a good start to the season with Norwich as they sit second in the table.
Leeds boss Farke was the man who first brought McLean to Norwich from Aberdeen, with the player also a fully fledged Scotland international.
