Leeds United have had a £10 million offer rejected by Celtic for Matt O’Riley.
That is according to Sky Sports, who report Celtic have reaffirmed their stance that he is not for sale despite a huge bid from the Whites.
Sky first broke news of Leeds’ interest in the 22-year-old on Tuesday evening, stating that they were set to battle Southampton to his signature.
It would appear that Leeds have made the first move, but have seen their advances knocked back, making it a tough deal to get done in such a short timeframe.
Leeds have already brought in Werder Bremen midfielder Ilia Gruev this week, with Rangers’ Glen Kamara set to follow, and so it is uncertain whether a new bid will be submitted.

Daniel Farke could certainly still do with adding some extra creativity to his squad and should they get a deal over the line for O’Riley, he would certainly provide that.
What this offer does prove, though, is that Leeds have cash to spend if they still wish to add to their squad, meaning incomings could still be a possibility today.
Leeds had been keen to secure the signings of Nadiem Amiri and Joseph Paintsil last week, both of whom would’ve provided more options in the final third.
With both of those deals now looking all but off, Leeds are yet to bring in any alternatives to those two players, raising the question as to whether business is done.
It certainly looks as though it will be an interesting final few hours of the window, with outgoings also still a possibility.
