Leeds United are eyeing a move for Norwich City midfielder Kenny McLean before the end of the window.
That is according to TeamTalk, who report Leeds have earmarked him as a potential replacement for Tyler Adams, who is set to join Bournemouth imminently.
Adams was in London yesterday ready to undergo a medical with the Cherries ahead of a proposed £23 million + add-ons switch from Elland Road.
Leeds were able to strike an agreement with Bournemouth slightly higher than Adams’ release clause for the 24-year-old, amid uncertainty regarding whether the Cherries had triggered it in time.
However, Leeds will now be switching their attention towards bringing in new players and McLean is someone who is reportedly on their radar.
Leeds eyeing move for McLean, a player Farke loves
Daniel Farke was responsible for signing McLean at Norwich in 2018, a club the Scotland international has been ever since.
Upon his arrival at the Canaries, Farke was full of praise for the midfielder and in particular his ‘technical ability’.
He told Norwich’s official website: “Kenny is a player who is really flexible. He can play nearly each and every position in midfield – as a number ten, a number eight, a number six or as a winger who comes inside.
“He gives us various options, and is full of technical ability. He had a high passing quality and is able to score and assist.”
With that in mind, it is clearly a link that is easy to make with the two having worked so closely together during their time at Norwich.
McLean has made just shy of 200 appearances during his time in Norfolk and whether David Wagner will sanction a move remains to be seen.
