iNews claim Ralph Hasenhuttl is on Leeds United’s shortlist as a replacement for boss Jesse Marsch after the Austrian left Southampton earlier in the season – with the Whites keen to bring in a new manager by the end of the week.
Marsch was given his marching orders on Monday after another defeat, to Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Leeds have won just four Premier League games out of a possible 20, winning two since August. It finally saw Marsch lose his job.
Plenty have been linked. Carlos Corberan was considered the favourite, but Graham Smyth has since reported on the YEP’s website that the West Brom boss is not a front runner. But, that Leeds are looking to name a manager this week.
Spanish newspaper AS claim Leeds have made an approach to bring in Real Madrid legend Raul. But, he has rejected a move to Elland Road. iNews now claim that Hasenhuttl, who like Marsch was at Leipzig previously, is admired at Leeds.

Hasenhuttl has been out of work since leaving Southampton. Joining the Saints in December 2018, he spent almost four years on the south coast – clocking up 173 games in charge. He was let go in November 2022, to some criticism.
Leeds are expected to be looking at a manager with a bit of experience. One that can help them get out of the mire they find themselves in. Leeds also have a young squad. We need a manager that has a track record of coaching youth.
Hasenhuttl, while not the most-exciting of appointments, is renowned for placing faith in youth. He kept the Saints up, against the odds at times in four seasons, before his sacking in November. He has the tools Leeds require right now.
