Bartlomiej Dragowski is a surprise name to be linked with a move to Leeds United this month, with the January window now in full flow – but European clubs are battling the Whites for his signature.
A couple of years ago, Dragowski was considered one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A football. He had been starring for Fiorentina, and was even being linked with a move to Italian giants Inter Milan.
He moved to Spezia though, in the summer of 2022, alongside Ethan Ampadu. The Wales star and the Polish goalkeeper could not stop Spezia being relegated. While Ampadu has gone, Dragowksi stayed.
While his career has fallen from grace somewhat, Dragowski remains far too good for the second tier of Italian football – and that is attracting interest. The report says a number of European clubs are keen.
Indeed, TMW say Dragowski is keen on a move to a top-tier clubs – or a bigger side – in order to improve his chances of being a part of Poland’s Euro 2024 squad. Leeds and Hull want to take him to England.

But also, Ligue 1 side Rennes – Joe Rodon and Djed Spence’s old side – want to land Dragowski, as do a number of Bundesliga sides this month. It is unclear how much he would cost, his deal ending in 2025.
Do Leeds need him? It is a bit of a strange one, with Illan Meslier first choice and Karl Darlow a very solid second-choice option. Kristoffer Klaesson is happy as third choice, impressing against Birmingham City.
Dragowski, though, is a top goalkeeper and at his best is one that should be playing in the Europa League or the Champions League. He might present, then, the opportunity to nab a bargain at Spezia.
A player with “great potential”, Dragowski will be desperate to be a part of his country’s Euro 2024 squad – after being picked for Qatar last winter, only for injury to rule him out at the very last minute.
