Leeds United and Real Betis have already laid ‘a lot’ of groundwork regarding a permanent transfer for Marc Roca.
That is according to Estadio Deportivo, who report while no purchase options has been inserted into the initial loan deal, it is widely expected his move will be converted into a permanent deal.
Roca was among eight members of last season’s first team squad to depart Leeds on loan in the summer in the wake of the club’s relegation to the Championship.
Robin Koch, Diego Llorente, Max Wober, Rasmus Kristensen, Brenden Aaronson, Jack Harrison and Luis Sinisterra all also departed on temporary deals.
So far, however, each of those players have had varying degrees of success, with Roca arguably the most successful of the eight in the opening month of the campaign.
Leeds and Betis lay Roca groundwork
Roca has already spoken of how happy he is at Betis since his move to Elland Road, telling ElDesmarque that a permanent move to the Spanish club is something he would be keen on.
He said: “This season, with the loan, I am very comfortable and happy, we’ll see. Let’s see how everything evolves in the coming months. These are things that have to be talked about, two clubs that have to agree, and then there’s me. I like to live day to day, I am focused on the present and eager to help the team.”
It is hard to see a way back for any of the players who left on loan in the summer and so it is promising to hear that Roca has made a good start to life back in Spain.
From Leeds’ point of view, the whole point of sending these players on loan was to make salary space, but also so that they could increase their value.
If Roca continues to perform at the level he has reportedly started at, Leeds will be able to sell him for the same, if not more than what they paid to sign him from Bayern Munich, making it a win-win for all parties.
